Rooted Living

Rooted Living was founded by Rachel when she was 19, driven by frustration with having to compromise when choosing snacks. She found that many options either contained hard-to-pronounce ingredients or were packaged in single-use plastic, a significant environmental pollutant. Determined to find a better solution, she began ideating, learning, and building—leading to the launch of Rooted Living just one year later. Rooted Living offers snacks made without refined ingredients and uses compostable packaging, giving consumers the ability to shop, snack, and support their values at the same time. While ending reliance on single-use plastic is an ambitious goal, Rachel often questioned her own qualifications as a college student to contribute to such a large-scale movement. However, she recognized a gap in the industry: while most snack companies focus on what’s inside the package, very few consider the impact of the packaging itself. Rooted Living was created to challenge that norm and bring equal attention to both the product and the way it’s delivered.
