vera.ai is a European R&D initiative advancing VERification Assisted by Artificial Intelligence to counter disinformation and digital manipulation. Co-funded by the European Commission, the consortium develops and showcases AI-based fact-checking and media verification tools, offers demos and trainings, and publishes research on transparency, content provenance (C2PA), and participatory, trustworthy-by-design methods. It also provides practical guidance on legal and ethical obligations for AI fact-checking under the EU AI Act, building on and extending the WeVerify project.
