Tosch.ai and the Data Gap in College Sports

Why now: College sports is changing fast. Name, image and likeness deals, a much more active transfer portal and the 2025 House v. NCAA settlement, which allows schools to share revenue directly with athletes, have turned program choice into a decision with real financial stakes.

The problem: The information athletes and families need to make that choice is scattered. Team stats, individual performance, roster turnover and coaching history live across thousands of school sites, conference pages and databases, in different formats.

The company: Tosch.ai brings that data into one platform, and we're proud to be investors.

What Tosch.ai has built

Tosch.ai sources, cleans and normalizes data from roughly 2,000 colleges and universities. Today it covers 13 sports, including men's and women's basketball, football, soccer, volleyball, baseball, softball, ice hockey and lacrosse, with team stats going back to 2021.

On top of that data, users can compare programs side by side, review coaching history and turnover, look at individual and roster performance, and ask questions in plain language using AI. There's also an API for anyone who wants to build custom reporting on the full dataset.

Who it serves

The obvious user is the student-athlete choosing a program. But the same data matters to college counselors, coaches scouting opponents and recruits, athletic directors benchmarking their programs, and sports agents advising athletes. Tosch.ai sells subscriptions across all of them.

Why we invested

The decisions in college sports now carry real money, and the people making them deserve better information. Clean, normalized data is hard to build, and it gets more valuable the more sports, seasons and schools it covers. That makes it a durable asset once it exists.

Founder Shawne Robinson describes the vision simply: a Bloomberg for college sports. We think that's the right ambition.

Open questions

Tosch.ai is pre-revenue, so the next step is proving which customer segment pays first and most. Expanding from 13 sports toward the roughly 40 college sports offered nationally, and keeping data accurate as it scales, will also take sustained work.

Welcome to the portfolio, Tosch.ai.
