AMLOK: Risk Is a Movie, Not a Photo

When a lender approves a loan to a small or mid-sized business, the decision usually rests on a snapshot: financial statements, bank records and documents reviewed at one moment in time.

The problem is that risk doesn't stand still. A borrower's cash flow, customers and obligations keep changing after the money goes out, and many lenders only find out when something has already gone wrong.

AMLOK is building for that gap. We've invested in the company, and here's why.

What AMLOK does

AMLOK deploys specialized AI agents across the credit lifecycle:

Underwriting. Agents read borrower files, reconcile financials and surface risk signals tied to the lender's own credit policy, so teams can move faster and more consistently.

Monitoring. After capital is deployed, AMLOK keeps watching borrower risk instead of waiting for the next annual review.

Decisions. Teams can simulate portfolio decisions and act as risk changes.

Two design choices matter here. AMLOK works inside existing lending workflows rather than replacing them, and the lender's team always makes the final decision, with the evidence behind each assessment kept alongside it.

Why we invested

The problem is costly. Slow underwriting means lost deals, and stale monitoring means losses that could have been caught earlier. Lenders feel both.

The approach is credible. AMLOK reports validating its models retrospectively on more than 275K historical deals, which is the kind of evidence credit teams need before trusting new tools.

The founder knows the space. Abdallah Kanaan has been building AMLOK since 2022, focused specifically on how risk decisions get made inside lending institutions.

What has to be true

Financial institutions buy carefully. AMLOK will need to turn evaluations into signed lenders, prove its value in live portfolios, and meet the security and compliance bar banks require. Those are long cycles, and the next year will show how quickly the company can move through them.

Welcome to the portfolio, AMLOK.
